Putin wins Russian presidency, opponents allege fraud

So just like in the United States, there are political controversies all over the globe.  Most recently, Russia held its presidential election and reports are saying that Vladimir Putin was victorious.  Putin is a member of the United Russia party which claims to be a conservative democracy.  So that should be a win for the United States right? I mean, a democratic based election in which the Communist Party lost, that must mean democratic success in Russia and we should be happy.

Let’s not forget who this man is, Vladimir Putin has been tagged as one of the most dangerous men in the world, and a threat to American lives.  So before we start waving our flags of victory and cheering about democracy succeeding in yet another country, lets take a step back and look at what we have now.  Russia is now under the rule of Putin, a former member of the KGB, for another 6 years.

So what should we think, are we happy the Communist Party lost? Or should we be wary that Putin is now in charge of Russia for another 6 years?
