Close your eyes and picture this: an Arab business person. I can guarantee that most of you did not picture a woman, right? Surprisingly enough, there are many woman entrepreneurs in the Arab business world. The stereotypes that women are clothed fully and not let out of their houses do not hold true anymore. Even in the most conservative of places like Saudi Arabia, everyone is realizing the potential of women workers.

This video provides a great insight on this changing of tides in the Middle East. Here’s an interesting thing that caught my attention: Woman who described pitching an idea to an old Arab businessman felt the same as a 30 something Silicon Valley venture capitalist.

Is there any connection between woman entering the Middle Eastern workforce and the Arab Spring? (Both aim to overcome different types of oppression)
