Here’s a gem from the political satire archives. Jon Stewart of The Daily Show impersonates and exaggerates Glenn Beck of Fox News.

While it is hilarious, it raises some interesting questions.

There is a great deal of people in our nation who make Glenn Beck and personalities like him their authority on thought and politics. Some people either do not have the time or are too lazy to fact check and diversify where they get their news and opinion. We also have to keep in mind that it is Stewart’s job to get laughs. All this being said.

Should personalities like Glenn Beck be taken as credible sources? What are the dangers of simply taking what a pundit says as fact? Is Stewart’s satire warranted here?
