If you haven’t checked out Jimmy Fallon’s video of him fooling Coachella fans into expressing their love for non-existent artists, it’s worth a watch.

More than sixty bands come together for the enormous festival which takes place in the California deserts. It attracts everyone from grungy, hippie, festival go-ers to the likes of Paris Hilton. Let’s not even get started on when Coachella became the it place to be during this time of year. From what this video shows, it seems music festivals like Electric Daisy Carnival, Bonnaroo, and more have lost their true meaning: a coming together of different kinds of people to enjoy the same music together.

Whereas festivals were once a chance for artists to get recognized and earn new fans, festivals are now a place for established artists to show off and for “hipsters” to brag about how they were fans of artist x or y long before mainstream media caught on.

But let’s be honest here. There’s no shame in admitting that you don’t know who are Young the Giant, Chelsea Clintons, or Two Door Cinema Club (Just FYI, Chelsea Clintons are not real, so don’t fall for that).
